A Family Passion, Anchored in Two Worlds

We’re a family-run seafood company with roots that span from the lakes of Switzerland to the shores of Greece. Headquartered in Switzerland and with a branch in Athens, our company reflects the journey of its founders — a brother and sister who grew up between these two countries, traveling back and forth all their lives.

Founded in 2011 by visionary siblings Leandra and Henri Waridel, Ifood has been at the forefront of sustainable aquaculture from the very beginning. Raised in both cultures, they’ve combined Swiss reliability with Mediterranean tradition to create something special — a company that is personal, transparent, and grounded in quality.

Working closely with trusted fish farms across the Mediterranean and beyond, we ensure that every product we offer meets the highest standards of freshness and sustainability.

Over the years, we’ve carved out a niche in the global market for Mediterranean sea bass and sea bream, particularly in sourcing large fish weighing 1kg and above. Our deep understanding of this segment, combined with strategic partnerships, allows us to consistently deliver excellence to our clients across Europe.

Our Journey

With our roots in pioneering companies within the Mediterranean aquaculture sector, we recognized a gap in expertise for sourcing large fish on a global scale. Seizing this opportunity, we established strong relationships with select producers — primarily in Greece — to ensure exclusive production of these species tailored for the European market.

What is ASC?

We need to ensure that fish are farmed in a responsible way. We are working with our suppliers who are certified with the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) standard. 

 What does the ASC Eco-label mean?

You can be certain of traceability throughout the supply chain, from farm to fork. ASC farmers minimize their impacts on the environment and care about their employees and local communities.

When you purchase a product with the ASC Eco-label on it, you:
